With the recent outbreak of Covid-19 forcing many businesses to start remote working options for their teams, we have seen that many businesses who had a location, don’t actually require one, or at least don't require an office as big as they once believed it would be.
With the cost of an office, there comes many commitments. Although they can be an excellent way to build team morale, and ensure productivity, the investment in an office as a business can often be the biggest expense alongside salaries for team members. If the remote working change has meant that your team are not craving the working from the office life, or if you have seen that they can remain productive (some studies having stated that productivity actually increases when people work form home), then you may want to consider the change. If you must have an office, then consider the place you are at at the moment, can you negotiate costs, or perhaps you can reduce the size and encourage a flexible working schedule for your employees.
Office space is often the highest expense for a growing business, so really consider your options as there are countless out there. You may find that one of the countless co-working spaces could work for you, or you may want to implement a smaller workforce at the office plan, where they can work at the office on different days, thus making your need for a smaller office more possible.
